Medical: Dr. Christopher Rial

Christopher Rial, D.O., is board certified in sports medicine and family medicine, and is the program director for the LECOM Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship at LECOM Medical Center. He currently serves as a team physician for Allegheny College and Corry High School. Dr. Rial previously provided physician services for the former Erie BayHawks, Mercyhurst College, and local sports program in the Washington, Pa., area. In 2024, he was selected as Medical Associates of Erie’s Doctor of the Year.

Adam Susmarski, D.O., FACSM, RMSK, is a sports, spine, and rehabilitation medical doctor at LECOM Health. In December 2025, he was elected as President of Mid-Atlantic Chapter of American College of Sports Medicine - the second physician elected to the position since 1987! Dr. Susmarski was also recently named head team physician for USA Olympic Wrestling (Men's freestyle, Women's freestyle and Greco Roman) international competition in Albania, Feb. 21 - March 2. He is the head team physician for the Erie Commodores and Erie Rugby Football Club, as well as a team physician for USA Wrestling, Lake Erie Jackals, Allegheny College, Gannon University Club Sports, and Corry High School. Dr. Susmarski specializes in diagnostic musculoskeletal ultrasound, ultrasound and fluoroscopic guided procedures, and Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) treatments. He has served as the head team physician at Loras College and Dubuque County high schools, Dubuque Rugby Club, Dubuque Miners, Dubuque RTC, and Clarke University. Prior to that he was a team physician and department head of the Brigade Orthopedics and Sports Medicine Department at the United States Naval Academy (USNA). He also served as the principal investigator at USNA for the Concussion Assessment, Research, and Education (CARE) Consortium and medical director for the USNA Concussion Center of Excellence. He served over 15 years in the United States Navy.

Christine Lomiguen M.D., Ph.D., is board certified in family medicine, and she is also pursuing board certification in sports medicine. She earned her Doctor of Medicine from Our Lady of Fatima College of Medicine, and she holds a Ph.D. and a Master of Science in Medical Education from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed her residency in family medicine and fellowship in sports medicine at LECOM Health. She also serves dual appointments as LECOM Assistant Director of Pathology and Assistant Professor of Pathology.
